OEM sideskirts install?

Post by Custommx3 »

A friend of mine has a set of OEM sideskirts hes trying to install.

He has these 2 plastic rails and the sideskirts only.

Anyone installed these have any tips/instructions that might be useful?

Any help would be appreciated.

I install em like this.. I get one of those drive screws...happer the tip in...screw them in to the body
use like 3 for one side skirt. The when the sideskirt is stuck.. just blend in with fiberglass. You can cover the screws with a little bit of bondo or fiberglass. Sand the fiber glass for a smooth finish. Prime..paint. Simple. Og make sure u cut the skirts to the right length. If you over cut you will need to re glue it with fiberglass and resin. Works wonders.

These are OEM, they have these plastic rails that go with them. They fit perfect already and are made of urethane.

thats too much work to cover the screws with bondo and sand/paint.

the best way would be two screws per side and then double-sided tape on the skirt itself. just paint-match the screws to the same color of the car if you're detail-oriented.

sorry wouldn't know how to install those plastic rails with them.

I know this sounds funny since you are the assistant administator o this site, but maybe you should ask in the Eunos 30X section below this section. They have these sideskirts on their MX3s stock and they could probably help you out alot more than US and Canadian owners can. ;)

if u look under the side of each door, there are mounting holes that have plastic covers on them, i believe. to get at them u need to take off your door sills (u'll notice access holes in the uni-body of the car). the plastic rails should fit somehow in those uncovered holes, then the sideskirts bolt to the rails.
