attaching mesh to bumper...

Post by mx-3 12acer »

Hey guys, I was just wondering how you felt the best way was to attach mesh to front bumper openings. Pictures would be great if possible. I have a modified front stock bumper and i just bought some mesh from O'Riely's... it comes in a square template. Ideas for installation? Thanks.

I have seen people use glue and/or metal clips. Is this how people with body kits such as mp5 and combat attach their front mesh?

depends how are u meshin the grill

are u makeing a cafestyle grill or meshing behind the grill

make a templet outta paper, (if you are gonna make the cafe style grill cut it 1/4 smaller & put some window rubber molding so it wont scratch the paint) u can either use small l brackets or just cut tabs & screw it in

good idea... yeah, i want to just put some mesh in the big hole on the front stock bumper. My bumper doesn't have the middle "grill" piece anymore, it was removed, so i just want to fill that area for asthetic purposes and to protect the radiator.

Cafe style? Not getting you... could you explain please

I went to home depot... bought some "gutter gaurds" took off the hold brackets with wire snips, measured the openings.. (i did all 3 on the stock bumper), then i cut the mesh to the size.. trimed slightly... and trimmed some more... afterwards..i placed a small ruberseal around the outer edges... held it pretty wellin place. then i used clear zipties to hold it to the back bars.. it looks pretty good, and you can't see the zip ties unless you get *REALLY* close. i'd post pictures.. but my cam is broken...

Cost:
Guttergaurd = $1.60 US.
rubberseal = less than 1.00 us.

pretty cheap mod.. only took me about 45 minutes.
