BTW Don't email me cause I havn't organized the buy yet but when I do you all will be notified.

Also the company that is making them is in China.....so gro harlem you must have talked to somebody else.
Sorry for jacking the thread, but what kind of a reaction did you expect from us? You and I both know that any kind of aftermarket headlight is going to be the most wanted item here on MX3.com

1: you don't reply to peoples requests for updates for over a week on a very traffic-intensive topic.

2: you are keeping the company a secret, making many speculate if this is even legit. A picture or a copied email from them would help us actually believe this is for real.

Don't they have to go thru approvals of some kind by the cops or safety committee?

Are they street legal and all that other stuff?

Proper DOT approval to conform to FMVSS108 and CMVSS108 will be legthy and will cost the company or anyone over $10,000. I guess the most this company will offer is SAE compliance, which does not make them legal.

The best thing anyone buying these lights can do is the following:

-do not expect world class lighting or even an improvement over your stock ones (what did you expect for $200?)
-assume that you are paying for the housing only.
-spend some money and get proper DOT sertified projectors such as Hella 90/120mm ones. This way you get best of both worlds.

Sorry to trash on the subject, but I thought it would be of interst to some seeking lighting improvement as well as legality. Of course I may be wrong in my assumptions of what kind of lighting equipment may come with the lights in question. But from what I have seen previously, anything with angel eyes made in China for this cheap will be just that. Ask any Honda guy who bought aftermarket cheap projector headlights. I guess the only exception of sorts could be TYC. But even that is an H3 based projector that can not come close to what could be had for a bit more money.

What may be useful, is when information becomes available the source can post a picture of the projectors and specifications. A beam pattern on the wall will be very useful.

Oh I'm so in on these if they get made!!! Finally I'll get my DRL/highbeam back and way better beam pattern for my HID's. I'm with Taras, screw the crappy angel eyes projectors, either sell them with really cheap lights so we can spend the money we save on real Hellas, or sell them with SAE DOT approved Hellas for a bit more to begin with.

Hey Gro!
I support the idea on telling that company you know how many projectors are we going to buy, and sure they will adapt some of their existing items to fit the Mx-3 (for example the Mx-5 ones) Forward them an E-mail with this UBB adress attached, so they can prove themselves how much of us are interested on the thing and they will know by first hand what we are heading for! If I was the owner or sales manager I won´t doubt that! I propose to the designer of this company or another related to the same thing to log on this UBB and we can chat on how this can be done!

Ok, for consistency sake this thread is now in the Lighting forum. Just in case anyone with power of decision to make these lights decides to look at this and previous discussions. Anyone starting a new thread please make sure it goes into a right Forum to begin with. This was in Appearance because it started out about appearance. Still be nice to see some info about lighting specifications about these possible lights besides that they are going to be projectors with angel eyes.
