dude i been thinkin about buying a RHD mx3 from england and shipping it back (cuz i work for fedex and get a fatty discount).. since i'm gonna be goin there for a vacation in the summer. anywayz yea man that would be sick, but wouldnt it be cheaper to buy the CAR as opposed to converting the dash? i've heard that can cost thousands... lol but soundz tight. i'd love the uniqueness :)

As far as importing goes, LOTS have to be changed...
The glass, the emmissions, all lenses that arent DOT approved.. ect.

it really sounds like either way its an expensive venture.... but i really think it will end up costing less to just buy a really cheap one here in the states and converting .... but i could be wrong.... so far though i haven't seen any numbers to convince me to do otherwise... thanks for that link but unfortunately there are no mx3/pressos for sale on there curently....

That's gonna cost a whole lot, for what? A stearing wheel on the opposite side.
Also the Right hand side virsion is all square inside, its the left hand drive that has all of the funky rounded vents.

Im sorry whats your motivation. Why do you want a right hand drive?

i guess just cause it is something different... and partially cause i've always liked the idea of a rhd vehical... just kinda always intrigued me... is there something wrong with wanting a rhd vehical?

isn't the reason any of us do any mods simply that we like it? or you think its cool? if you dn't like something then don't do it.. if you do like something *and can afford it* do it.

Sorry, I appologise I wasnt knocking you wanting a RHD. I didnt know it was such a good thing to have in the US. It just seems like a lot of $$$. But if thats what flips the switch over there, Go for it.
Ha, you would have to learn how to drive again. Shift on the wrong side. :driver:

i wish i had the money to make my dream MX.... RWD, Rear Engine. the trunk would be big enough for the engine, obviously with the removal of the back seat. but alas, this is only a dream... that would be a top dollar project.

LOL yea rwd would be tight haha
but i mean.. cheapest way to go would be buying one in the UK or Japan. shipping is usually $800-$1000, and emissions are easy to fix, so are windows and lenses, since we have the cars here and can easily swap them in and out. check out www.ebay.co.uk and you'll find that a UK-spec V6 goes for cheap!! i seen em for under 1000 pounds! right hand drive would kick so much A**, you'd just have to get used to shifting with your left hand hehehe.. but converting one here would cost your upwards from $2-3000 i'd say.. at least. its been done, but why? when u can get an already built one for cheaper. lol and the dash you could custom make your own (which would be sweet in addition to rhd!).. well good luck with the rhd! i'm goin to europe in the summer and might buy one lol

that shipping quote sounds kinda cheap cause i was qouted the same price to ship a car from another state to my state... seems like it should be more to ship over seas.... but something to consider...

that would be really sweet... but i would like to have two people in the front :) certain things that would help out with... i wonder how possible a center drive mx3 would be... that would be one hell of a bill for custom work.. but that would rock....
...... i asked around concerning shipping and its really freakin expensive to ship a car here from overseas

my friend just told me to ship from england to PA is over 5 grand plus the cost of paperwork plus the cost of making the car legal for the states.... seems like for 5 grand i could not only make a lhd vehical rhd... but just do a custom dash instead of a stock rhd dash
