Suicide Doors

Post by Pimpn1l2 »

A few months ago, someone had found a website that does suicide doors. He said that he would write the company and see if they could do it for MX-3. I'm wondering if any progress has been made.

I didn't hear about this, but I'm doubting it could be done cheaply. The curvature of the MX-3 door, I think, would pose a problem for hinging properly. I especially would be worried that, if you used one hinge, the door would be too heavy to swing without additional support. In that respect I would go for some sort of spring controlled arm, similar to those used on doors. Yet reverse engineer it to keep the door open and support the weight. Then there is always the problem of the metal cutting to make the door open properly and smoothly without impedance

autoloc.com has some universal suicide door hinges. although i think hy300 is right. the door jambs wont have enough room for those hinges unless you can modify them or find smaller ones that can still support the weight of the doors at the same time.

alright, you guys can get suicide doors, but i don't wanna have to squeeze in at the front of the door where it's much narrower. not to mention, think of what could be done to the motor for that price.

My bad, I made a mistake. I meant scissor doors. I mixed up the name. Suicide doors are the ones that open backwards. Scissor doors open up like the Lamborhini Diablos and Countach. I had seen a website that had made them for the Honda Civic. I was wondering if anybody knew about the website or knew around how much it would cost.
