Onderground-design OFFER you custom hood for your car

Post by onderground »

Image
Ok gang, I got the price, the design and everything.... this hood will be WITHOUT the 2 side intlet on each side... only the design into the middle will be offered
Ok Since Carbonfiber is very expensive, it wont be able to do this to as resonable price... just to make the mold for carbonfiber it take about 3 weeks working all day long... to make a mold PERFECT cuz with carbonfiber you dont have 2 chance of making the part...
carbonfiber is textural and strengh... so if your mold have some imperfection you will all see them in the top...
And second thing, fiberglass is impossible to do with all those design in the hood... A plain hood is possible but with the design it wont be able to match 2 layer of fiberglass side to side when you mold it...
My hood will be in heavyduty fiberglass with kevlar in the middle... with the latch, the ketch and all heavyduty metal steel plate to screw bolt and nuts to install it... everything will be in place! You just have to screw it with the screw provided and you will be fine!
So this hood is available for 550$ Us plus shipping from canada to anywhere in usa...
I will receive confirmation for shipping this week.. we can start the production next week if you guy are willing to buy it.... if there is not enough demand we will forget this....
Of course the price is little expensive but we need to cover the labor for design, production and 2 week involved for the realisation! Each latch that we send to you cost approx 70$ and its included!
So just manifest some interest and we will be on our way to satisfied the MX-3 communauty!
Eric Belec www.onderground-design.com

since we are not erebuni and we cannot invest at large... we are growing strong but we have a pretty small market
If I can sell up to 4000 hood all around the worlds cuz my name is wingwest, fine!! each hood would cost 300$... but we need to charge a little more to cover the 2000$ fee that I do to the shop by taking 2 molders to design and produce the kit... BEFORE making any penny on this project!
Im sure you understand the main purpose of this... if you can stick a gang of 50 people who want this hood, the price will drop dramasticaly.. but its impossible to do it... I need to take the option that If I only sell 5 hood i wont need to close my door!
Thanks

Hmmmm. Still seems a lil pricey. And I know we were all interested in a CF hood. How much is this hood gonna weigh?

With that design of hood scoop, if it rained, doesn't the water run into the engine. Can someone explain?

my friends got a cavalier with things that let water hit the engine. When the car is hot all it does is steam up, not sure about when its cold though. and about the probe/mx-6 hood, its quite abit different, comparing my one friends probe and another friends mx-3's the prob hood is longer and it looks wider as well
