Best year for MX-3?
I'm in the market to buy a MX-3... just wanted to hear your guys/gals opinion on what the best year for MX-3 was.
I was looking at 94s... maybe 93.
I think the range is from 92 to 96. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

for whatever reason '93's and '94's seem to be the most abundant.

Re: Best year for MX-3?
I love my 93, but I don't have any air bags and I still have the r-12 freon. 94 and up have air bags and the newer freon.
I have read that the seats in the 92-93 are firmer than the 94 and up.
v6 performance is the same any year.
i4's had a motor change somwhere around 94.
hope that helps

I have a 94GS without air bags or ABS. I think it was a optional package throughout all years.

Re: Best year for MX-3?
airbags and abs...who needs em!! this just means a flyin m stearing wheel is going into my car one day!! and all emblems will then be flying m's!! and, abs, have we forgotten how to pump the brakes. a/c...i love this feature but, when i literally need to shut it off for better accell to pass some jack *** on the hwy...i can turn it off!!(im not aricer who will take out powerstearing a/c belts for more power...i like those features) cept i do hate no sunroof, no power doors and windows...but o-well i guess...the car is not wide so i can reach over if i see a cute lady on the passenger side!
overall...i gotta say 92 93...i hate the center counsole of the 94+ it sits too high. and i say 92 more so cuz thats what i gots!! you can call me bias!

Re: Best year for MX-3?
If you're gonna get a 4-cylinder (RS model) PLEASE get a 94-95!! They had the DOHC motor, while 92-93 has SOHC and was much weaker...
Have fun!

Re: Best year for MX-3?
but...the bp swap can be done to both...easily...and the 92-93 have cable drivin tranny instead of elec...one less thing to convert haha
and its not much weaker...just have the 94+ load the rear end with a large system and youll smoke him!! haha
(im jp if ya cant tell)
