Take a piece of cloth and spray it with the paint to see how it turns out. You don't want the fabric to be rock hard cause then you'll ruin your seats.
Tell me how it turns out! I might do this during the summer

Are you going to bleach the fabric before??
What color are you using?
If it turns out nice, I might do it.

actually that might be a good idea to bleach them. but i was just planing to take out the seats, and tape of the middle section and paint the sides black, then i was going to tape off the sides and paint the middle section a deep blue color to match the body. if it works out, it would have cost only 10 bucs, but i have test a section to make sure the paint gets absorbed so it doesn't make the fabric hard.
i'll let u know if it turns out ok

did it work? I wanna know too.
Re: Painting the Seats with fabric spray. question?
hey, i tried a little patch on the front of the seat. and it looks good. but even with the fabric paint the fabric becomes a little too "crispy" i don't know any other word to use. it doesn't flake off but its defently not as soft as before. (i think it would be perfect for the side doors and back fabric)
maybe i'll do the rest anyways. worse comes to worse i'll get the fake leather seat covers made for it.
i'll put up a photo once i do it.
cheers

too much s--- to list!
Re: Painting the Seats with fabric spray. question?
Ya they have almost all the regular colors. i got the paint can from micheal's craft store in ontario canada. i don't know if they have a chain in the states. but if you don't see fabric paint, just look for rose/flower spray paint. its really fine paint that doesn't crisp up.
ps. put up a photo if you finish it before i do!
cheers

Re: Painting the Seats with fabric spray. question?
I dyed my 92 GS seats I put in my 1995 RS that I picked up from a salvage yard a few years ago. I put them in a vat of dye and salt water for several weeks, and they didnt turn out. I had to use the spray dye and it made my seats very stiff and has worn off alot.
Re: Painting the Seats with fabric spray. question?
Did u happen to bleach them first? also was the salt to make the fabric absorb the paint faster?
Re: Painting the Seats with fabric spray. question?
I finally dyed (spray) my passanger seat. hmm DON'T do it! it looks ok, but nothing impressive therefore not worth doing at all.
i regret painting it, im looking into getting a katzkin leather kit for it now, or get someone to make a covers for me.
Overall, spraying, dyeing seats BAD IDEA!
cheers
ps. spraying ur carpet with black fabric paint . GOOD IDEA> looks nice and new.
