shot lights = dome light

i'm planning to purchase some blue neon shot lights to wire into my dome light. the problem is that i have no dome lights on my door. the only dome-type light i have is on my headliner with the buttons when it's set to "door" so the light turns on whenever the door opens...duh. <BR>my question is how to wire my shot lights into the headliner dome light? i'm going to mount both lights on the rear corners of my car.<BR>if you didn't know what a shot light is, it's like two small neon spotlights.

I wired my radar detector right into the dome light. not too hard to do. Make sure you get the right wires in there. there are a couple of wires coming into the dome light. If you have a sunroof, there should be a green/yellow stripped wire going to the sunroof switch, leave that one alone... I'm doing this by memory so I may not be exact, don't hold me to it. There are three other wires and should be wrapped up in a black tube, cut this tube carefully to expose the wires. The next wire should be red/white stripped - this one causes the dome light to come on and off when the door is opened - leave it alone.... <BR>there should be two other wires in there - a black one and a blue/red stripped one. these are the two you need. The black one is the ground wire. The blue/red stripped one is a positive wire that goes to the dome light switches to turn the light on from inside. Those two wire are what I used to wire in the detector. should be the same for adding extra dome lights into your MX.

thanks...actually mine has no sunroof. is there a difference in the color wiring or no?

don't think so, you won't have the green/yellow one then if no sunroof.<BR>
