Help Painting Interior

Post by jkelso1 »

I want to paint the interior of my mx-3 white. The middle console and the area around gauges. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about doing this? I think that I can figure out how to get everything apart, but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

This is how I did mine..
To do you interior..
Clean all the parts with a sponge/alcohol. this will remove grome/oily finish. After that let the alcohol evaporate. Try not to touch iy at all after this so you dont get oil from your hands on your parts.
Next use Krylon Satin to give it a nice finish (its not flat, but yet not glossy.) With the krylon satin, Use LOTS of light coats. MAKE SURE YOU LET EVREY COAT DRY !ST. this could take 20+ coats. Do not rush it , it will turn out bad with runs.
After that.
Do the same with Krylon Satin clear. Do the same steps for paining, let each one dry. It turns out very well.
------------------
Barry Clark
Moderator
1995 Mazda Mx-3 RS
Chaste White
barrykclark.com
barrykclark@hotmail.com

True, barry is right. I used his way and my interior is excellent. I did the blue color on the interior (speaker grilles, vents on corner by windshield, blue front grill on outside of car, etc. I have yet to do all the rest around the gauges, etc. That will happen soon though.
Any questions, just email me, I know barry is really busy.
Chris
------------------
Mazda MX-3, Black, Automatic, 1994 I4
