Anyone know where the fuel filter is at?

I needed to change the fuel filter in my '93 1.8 v6 mx-3 ... and i lent my book out.. .. i think i found it, but im not too sure.. Do you have to take out the battery and the battery box to get at it??..

any info, is appreciated..

Right next to tranny. There is a little bracket on your crossmember if i remember correctly. And yea...i think you do need to remove battery.

Yeah remove the battery then remove the plastic thing the battery sits in and it will be next to the tranny. You will see it held in by a brackets and 2 rubber hoses coming out of it. Should only take like 15 minutes to completly finish.

Thanks guys, i found it.. and once i did.. it took a little more than 15 min.. but not much more than an hour.. lol, i had my share of trouble getting the battery box out.. and then the hoses off lol, what a mission when you dnt have the right tools for the job..

But i got it all done and working, thanks again.

p.s.... make sure not to accidentally lean against the throttle body, as it pressurises the gasoline in the line, and may cause you to squirt yourself in the eye... causeing you to swear profusly :mad: . as i found out.

I have a 1992. Why did you have to change your fuel filter?

2 years or 60k miles......according to the owners manual :roll:

For future reference-- here is the location of the Fuel filter.

Tricky to get to when the engine is still in! LOL

is it in the same place on the 6 cylinder as on the 4?
