According to the book, Code 17 is termed Closed Loop System (Left side), and is called when the left O2 sensor does not change its output by 50 sec after the speed exceeds 1,500rpm (I guess this means after starting or pulling away from a stop).

The possible causes, apart from the O2 sensor and wiring, are:

clogged fuel return hose
Clogged fuel hose between pump and fpr
defective fpr
defective engine coolant sensor
your old friend the vacuum leak
defective fuel injector
defective wiring to fuel injector
defective ECU
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

dont forget a mismatched ecu/vaf combo. Which would also probably bring up the RH inversion error as well.
