do not shave your flywheel

Post by babyblueMX3 »

I had some major problem with my car for abouth a month until 2 weeks ago when it didn't want to start anymore..It seems that my act z62-hdss clutch was putting too much pressure on my shaved flywheel so it warped and broke...thank god my clutch is still ok...

this is only for guys that want to shave their FW..don't do it..maybe with a stock clutch it's ok but with an act clutch...don't even think about it..

I had my FW shaved to 13 pounds

learn with others mistakes

Hmmmm, lol i have a 13lbs shaved flywheel and a ACT clutch, and I haven't had any problems. How are you so sure it is because of the lightened flywheel? Where did you get it shaved, they might not have balanced it good enough. Who knows, did it have any symptoms before it broke?

because my mechanic saw the flywheel and said to me I'm going to laugh when I'll see it..When he took off the tranny and clutch he saw it right away what was the problem

the symptoms were hard shifting...when I reved high I would have a hard time shifting into gears..and by the end I couldn't shift anymore. :freak:

yeah my mechanic told me not to do it he explained that the flywheel is layed so when you take off the layers that are hardened they flywheels tend to crack.
