My mechanic said my MX- doesn't have A/C... is this tru

He said my car didn't have a condenser or a compressor; ergo. no A/c just a fan<p>I'll describe the dashboard, to see if I can some help on this issue...<p>It's got about 7-8 buttons on the top right side displaying different air vent positions (defrost , floor, etc) and next to it two buttons for inside circulation and for external flow...(?)<p>Underneath these buttons I have a sorta of a switch-lever thing that slides from blue corner to red corner ;in other words from cool to hot, so I my intuitive brain has figured.... he he<p>I read in the Chilton's MX-3 manual that the A/C must be serviced by a certified technician.... <p>Any help would be apprecitated

are you serious? if you don't have the button that says "a/c" or a compressor under the hood (this isn't hard to check by the way) then you don't have a/c<p>simple as that

Who ever said that every MX3 ever made was equipped with A/C?<p>If you have a switch its between the two vents in the middle of the dash, directly above the stereo and heater controls.<p>If there is such a thing as a stupid question then all these forums would be empty!

I've had a '94 RS and a '92 GS. Both had A/C buttons that appeared to work. However, the '94 didn't actually have a/c...well, when I bought it didn't. My understanding was that they put the button in all of them but it didnt' necessarily mean that it had a/c.

dude if you dont have a button on the right hand side of the buttons that choose the directions that says AC on it,,, you dont have AC. done.
Other way to check is if you see the AC condensor, meaning if you have 2 radiators, you have AC, if not i guess i am sorry, you dont have an AC.

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN.... DDDD....DAMN!!!!<p>I don't have an A/C button.... and true I shouldn't be driving in this weather... that's what you meant.. right... or should I go ahead and get offended... anyway thanks a lot guys,now I don't have to worry about it...<p>By the by... could it be that my MX-3 doesn't have A/C because it's a Canadian MX-3? I mean it is pretty cold up there most of the year ... A/C would be redundant wouldn't it?

what is hot for canada, cause i live in pheonix Arizona, now that is hot, and most likley the hottest place in north america. latley we have been seeing 113-115 degree weather. now thats hot. dont get me wrong im not dissing your word or anything but people of different cliamates think the meaning of hot is different, same thing with cold. try living where i live and i dont even have tint on my windows either so my car takes half an hour to actuly start to cool down.

I thought I knew hot before I moved to Vegas. Now this is HOT! I don't have tint yet either. I'm gonna have to ante up before next summer, though.

Hot here is like 35 40 degrees celcius... who knows what that is in ferinhieght or whatever. But when its 35 40 here its humid as hell and it gets hard to breeth. And everything sticks to you. Without AC on those days driving my black car with black interior would suck big time.
