my car is screwed up

Ok i am a clueless individual and i have a problem i went to start my car today and its got a ruff idle, and i smell gas under the hood, i checked all the spark plugs but nothing seems to be wrong with them, could anyone help me please i have a v6 1.8L. thanks

maybe you flooded your engine w/ gas

Check to see if your plugs are all in and working.

I don't know either, and the Mazda Workshop Manual doesn't say, but it describes the Dechoke System which is provided to overcome it when it has happened. Floor the accelerator pedal and crank away till it fires. If the coolant temperature is below a certain figure, fuel injection will be cut-off. The value given is 32 degF, which I can't think is correct, something like 85 would be more appropriate, to distinguish a cold engine with the coolant at ambient from a warm one.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

Could also be a bad or leaky injector.

i had very much the same problem on my mx3, it didnt start and smelled a lot of gas, when i pulled the fuelpump fuse and cranked it a bit and the reinserted the fuse i could start the car.. then i adjusted the tps the problem went away .. try that!
