No Compression

Post by hybrid »

Hi, I am a new guy to this board but I need some help. I recently performed a engine swap for my friend. She has a 94 mx-3 and we dropped in a USDM 2.5L from a 95 626. The swap worked perfectly thanks to the information provided here. The problem started after she left the car on friday, and tried to start it on sunday. The engine bay was blocked full of snow. I looked at the car on tuesday, and found the rear bank to be dead. The compression test revealed 30 across the rear, and 130 across the front. I assumed the headgasket, because the the three cylinders had the same compression. I replaced the headgaskets front and rear, and decked the heads 25 thou. And now there is about 140-150 across the front and zero across the back. I don't know if I missed something. The engine ran on the front bank before the teardown, but it won't even offer now. I don't think it is off cam timing but I went by the painted marks on the cams. The engine seems to be rotating ok, just have no compression on the rear bank. The cylinder walls look ok and the cylinders were washed down. Sorry about the long post.
