Re: Ford 1.8
then u may have a k8ze. It may have been damaged in shipping so put a a ford vavve cover on it, or it is a teslar k8 from ford (mazda motor).
It has a higher compression engine and may require the ECU for it (K8ze).

I seem to remember one of the members from New Zealand talking about being able to source K8ZE ECU's a couple months ago. Maybe do an archive search.

Re: Ford 1.8
wow, maybe it is a k8-ze...strange that someone would actually take the time to put that motor in there. Still, its better than the k8-de. Get a ECU from layyzie, that'll most likely fix your problem.

What is the best ECU/VAF combination to use with the K8ZE? Will the K8ZE ECU work with EGR installed?

Re: Ford 1.8
it may work, but unsure. U may want to contact LAZZIE (check the feeback forum) he can get ECUS. I can too, but I cant seem to get much respose from my Japan supplier. He can also check the VAF it needs (may be the JE50 u have on there now)

Re: Ford 1.8
Ask that New Zealander what combo he's got. He's got an operating K8ZE in one of his cars I believe.
Re: Ford 1.8
Unlikely. The KLZE ECU doesn't support EGR, so its probable none of the JDM configurations use it.Originally posted by Wrapper:

Re: Ford 1.8
Do you guys think corksport would be a good place to get a good ZE? Comes w/reprogrammed ECUs, Thought I read somewhere on here problems with ECU from corksport? I don't want no "ford 1.8" He He any replys would be appreciated...
Re: Ford 1.8
If I unplug VAF, car will stay running. It cuts off as soon as VAF is plugged up. What is the cause of this?
I have tested the VAF using the ohm meter and it shows to be good.

Re: Ford 1.8
If it had a straight neck manifold then it is definately a Telstar engine. Your JE50 VAF should work, it is what's on mine. You'll want an Eunos Presso ECU, the code for mine is K805C, but that's for an auto, plug in the ECU and you'll have 10HP more than standard, good luck!
