Cat Back (but not to far back)

Post by mx34u2nve »

I'm wondering if you can get a cat back exhaust without the muffler. I see there doing a group buy on a cat back exhaust would there be anyway to get just the exhaust part of that?? cause i like my muffler.

That's called exhaust piping, and can be bent by any muffler shop for a minimal cost.

It is cheaper to go to a muffler shop and get them to make u a 2.25' piping all the way from the headers back with the flex tube and the cat for about 350.00.... but that piping will last u about 2 years, then u will start to see rust and holes appear... thats why i would go ahead spend the money on something that will last longer. I would recommend getting cat-back. Then just welding on the muffler u want and sell the other one thatcomes on there... On the other hand the pipe in a mx-3 is almost 2 inch round and for the $$$ u spend on a cat-back to me is not worth it i would go ahead and spend it on something that will incrase your HP more then 2hp.. but thats just me.<p>If anyone can also tell me if they have a kl-ze and then changed the piping and how much did it help in your 1/4 mile....and how much it cost...
