? about sponsorships

Post by gueedo »

Could I get a sponsorship if my car hasn't been modded yet. What I'm asking is...would the sponsor give me money so that I could mod my car if they saw potential in it? I've heard a lot about sponsorships, but I'm not exactly sure what they're for.

most of the time a company will sponsor you if you have media coverage. its very hard to get a sponsor any other way. but its not impossible. the best thing to do is write a resume that shows your plans for the car and what major car shows you will be attending. if you dont plan on going to shows dont bother. i hope this helps.

Not Neccessarily, I got my sponsorship on a car I paid $700 for. All I did was I went to a local shop that does fiberglass and painting, and asked if I could trade work out for some learning experience ( molding fiberglass, lucite, painting, custom work, ect..
He offered me a sponsorship a few days later when he knew I was serious. Im not only getting mycar redone, but Im going to be doing it myself under his supervision.

Most of the time, sponsorships come as your car gets more noticed. I got sponsored by Toyo tires, Clutchmasters, and a few local places. Its pretty cool, but some companies are rediculous! For example, Toyo tires wants you to be in a magazine article, win a best of show award at a national show with over x amount of entries, or something thats comparable, within 90 days of sponsorship, or else you gotta pay them for the tires! I opted for a partial sponsorship, where I had to wear Toyo tire banners AND place in the top 3 at 3 shows, AND pay 215 a tire (T1-S 245/35/19) since there is no way my car was/is going to be in a magazine. BTW, this was on my other car. Other companies aren't as strict. BTW, I got noticed by the VP of sales at a show by winning the burnout contest, is which I threw the belts on a brand new set of Toyo FZ4's in 43 seconds. :D
