KLZE WONT START!!

Post by clickhere »

I just swapped my ze and it wont start, i made sure i swapped all the required stuff, however i dudnt swap the knock sensor and i still have the 1.8 ecu and vaf. the only thing im not sure of is the firing order (is it the same as the 1.8?) and the vacuum lines the diagram in the manual is kinda hard to see. also i know for a fact that there is fule going to the pressure regulator but not through it(is it controled by vacuum?).

Do you have fuel and spark? Check for those and then come back. Also, pull codes.

I am sure you changed the timing belt so make sure you line up that marks correctly by the manual. Then if you swiched disty's like you should of then make sure that you installed in when cylinder one was at top dead center, and the rotor is on 1 on the cap. Once this is done pull all you spark plugs and clean them cause chances are you flooded them. Reinstall all plugs and then on the disty cap you will see the firing order. The order on the engine goes
135
246
Edited: Sorry about the misinformation there.. Was to tired to post that when I posted hehe.. Anyhow Lazzyie is right.. Looked it up just now

all this is done is should start. If not then chances are its a bad disty. To check that check for spark, manual will tell you how..
[ February 02, 2003: Message edited by: zevirii ]

Well it turs out i had the wires on incorrectly, I went by the instructions in the manual for the 1.8. The way I have it set-up now (thanks to lazzyie) is:
135
246
and I followed the numbers on the distributor cap not the diagram in the manual for the 1.8.
The only problem now if the idle is consistantly increasing and decreasing.
