93' PGT Bad Head Gasket
I have a 93' Probe GT, and took it in for a new water pump. The guy there said that I needed a new head gasket, because the CO2 test he did on the antifreeze came back positive. The car does not smoke, runs good, and has never overheated. Am I about to be ripped off?

First of all what is a CO2 test? One way you can tell if you need a new head gasket or you have some leak is by renting a tool at your local Autozone (shameless plug) that you put in place of your radiator cap and pump it up to the specific pressure on your rad cap and off the top of my head I can't remember, its like somewhere 13-16 lbs. Well anyway you pump it up to that, btw the whole time the car isn't running. Now watch the gauge to see it any pressure is lost. The guage doesn't move. No leaks = No new head gaskets. If it drops off, you got a problem.

Get a second opinion... Head gasket replacement pays well if you know what I mean.
