engine mounts maybe?

Post by mazdamxstyle »

I just bought my car and i dont think ill drive anything except an mx-3 ever ! hehe. Well my only problem with the car so far is that when im in 1st second or third gear and i am off the gas then i just step on it my stick shift moves about 2-3 inches. Is this normal? its the stock shifter and i had my mechanic check out the engine mounts by holding the ebrake on and acceleerating on the gas and he said that they are fine. Anyone else have this problem? ------off that subject i must say this sounds odd but its true, after i bought my car i started putting 92 octane in it. I then steam cleanded it, and then i put fuel injector cleaner in it and oil cleaner in it after i got an oil change then chemically flushed the coolant. After all that maintenance i know i shouldnt have gained performance but holy crap there was actually a noticable gain! It might be my head but i really dont think so. Just thought id let you all know, the pics of my newly done interior should be up soon to.<BR> :)
