Before you criticize someone, you should drive a mile in their wheels. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their wheels.

distributor, ecu, spark plugs/wires, vacuum...could be a lot of things. Does the temp go up really high if you drive it around??

I just had the same problem and what it was, was a combination of things. First thing was the EGR valve, it was not opening properly. This part is really expensive I think $500.00 and you can only get it through Mazda unless you go through a scrap yard which I did and got it for $75.00. Unfortunetly it takes about 3 hours to install because of the tight fit. However, this only helped the problem a little and I took it to Mazda to have a dignostic test. They found three codes cleared them, and said it was stalling do to a carbon build up in the intake manifold, throttlebody, and the fuel system. It cost me about $150.00 to do. You can clean out the throttle body yourself its not hard, but the fuel system flush must be done at Mazda for about $100.00 They have to hook it up to some machine. But I would suggest getting a dignostic test done first your computer might be just tripping some codes and after the clear them it might even be better
Good Luck

BRO,
check your air intake hose for rips. They're hard to see on the car.. take the hose off and flex it while watching the accordian part. If there is any leak at all after the VAF, your idle will bounce so drastically, it will kill the car.
