Despertly need help

Post by SE-Man »

Ok, I fixed my distibutor, but wile i was setting the timming it started making a really fast banging/clicking noise. It was low on water so I filled it up. But now it will only start if its floored, makes alot of noise, then dies when the RPMs drop back down. Dose anyone know whats wrong with it, or has have the same problem? It kinda sounds like a peice of plastic being stuck into a fan.

P.S. Dose anyone know the cylinder firing order?
------------------
Thanks,
Teri
'93 MX-3 SE
http://www.geocities.com/warmachinex0/MX-3GSSE.html

I was wondering how you set the timming on your distributor because i recently replaced mine and i don't know if the timming is correct.

Well, theirs not much to it. The way I set mine was I had a friend in the car cheking the RPMS, while the car was running. I twisted the loosened distributor(it only has like a 1/8 turn radious), till i get the right idle. Then mark it with a line across the distributor and the head. Tighten then took a ride to see how it was running. Other options are to get a timming light. But from what I was told (so I'm not sure if its right) but if you set it to the middle of the turn the car will automaticly ajust.
------------------
Thanks,
Teri
'93 MX-3 SE
http://www.geocities.com/warmachinex0/MX-3GSSE.html
