i didnt have oil burning problems on my k8 before i removed it (other than the valve cover gasket). I am having a problem with tranny oil leaking but all auto trannys show some kinda wear after 100k. The tranny is one item of the car that doesnt get serviced until something goes wrong so its not gonna last forever.

the k8 is the engine name for the v6 in the mx-3. In my opinion its the better version to get because of the options that come along with it that arent available on the 4cyl. The valve cover problem i just mentioned is common with the v6 engines. Lastly auto tranny repairs are very costly on the mx-3. I've seen anywhere from 1500-4000 for a new unit. Make sure you get some kinda warranty if ur buyin from a dealership
