Box Setup Questions
Heres my setup now...
One Pioneer 50w *4 mp3 player head unit
One 2003 Kicker Comp VR 12
One Pyramid 1600watt amp
Now it sounds really nice in the mx-3 but i have a question.
For christmas I bought myself a new box and another kicker 12.
Right now the box i have is not sealed and is at the same degree as the windshield. No grill or nothin just facing the windshield with no ports. I bought the box for $50 at the local shop.
For christmas I bought myself a "bandpass" box off ebay. It's 2 12's facing each other at a angle. It's got a plexiglass seal on it.
My question.
Which will make my car sound better. Inside that is.
The new setup...or a setup where I don't have the box enclosed, do you think it's better if i maybe just take off the plexiglass.
Tell me what you guys think, and any suggestions you might have.

Re: Box Setup Questions
Point it towards the hatch!
Ive tried it several ways, this way is the beset because the sound bounces off the glass and travels forward.

Re: Box Setup Questions
bandpass boxes are not among my favorites by any means. They are rarely designed right and even when they are the range of frequencies they play are not ideal. They don't (usually) have a smooth response curve and when designing bandpass boxes, it's important to take in to account the theile parameters of the subs.
All in all, go sealed and do like Sir Barry said. Point 'em back.![2 Thumbs Up :2thumbsup:](./images/smilies/2thumbsup.gif)

Re: Box Setup Questions
I have 2 Audiobahn 12's in a bandpass (Facing the BACK) and they sound great. I hated bandpass and use to make fun of my friends until I got one and now I love it.
