Gurus i need your help- laptop install

Post by Sonicxtacy02 »

What i want to do is install monitors in my headrests, then run the wiring to the front of the car where i can plug my laptop in allowing the monitors to display whats on my dvd drive. My laptop does not have a tv card. Is there anyway to set this up without having to buy one?

Generally laptops (at least newer ones) have a video output port so that you can hook your laptop up to a regular monitor. It would take a standard 15 pin monitor cable. I'd check around, out there somewhere is some sort of "adaptor" cable that would have 15 pin male side to go into the laptop and rca on the other side to go into a tv (or receiver, vcr, etc...).

Its a unit that takes VGA and converts it to S-Video and RCA

Here are 2 examples we can get:

i mean the scan converter.......software inside is usually not supported by the company that makes em(at least the cheap ones)....since most new video cards have video out......all you need to do is hook it up to a tv/monitor.......also the scan converters are a pain to get working.......

i've never encountered one what was plug in and go, and the good ones dont have software, like this once i've tested:
http://startech.com/ststore/itemdetail.cfm?ProductID=VGA2NTSCPRO&topbar=topbara.htm
it had buttons on the top for adjusting and thats it. Even my old one that does only 640x480 doesnt need software to run, it has software which i lost, guess its for display adjustments/centering, but it works no problem withough it,just plug in and go...
Unless your a dumbass, you can not not get it working, unless your running at a resolution/refresh rate that it cant handle, but thats your fault, not the device, normally its just pulg in and go
