Am I a Dum a-- ?

Post by DiGiTaL »

Please don't answer that. My real question is what is the right size speaker I need to replace the fronts and rears. I thought it was 5.25", but I saw a couple peeps in here say that they put 6.5"s in ?? I have a '93 GS.

i have 6.5's all 'round. my guess is that mazda put in smaller speakers to keep the costs down. when i bought my speakers the sound shop went to their 'big book of info' and according to it the standard size is 6.5, fits w/o any mods.

I pu t 6 1/2 in my car. You have to drill new holes for a secure mount or do like I did. I didn't have a good drill so mine are secure with one screw. No problems as of yet :D Good luck

Like other guys, I use 6.5 for both front and rear. I had an access to the huge drill and made new holes on the edge of the speakers. It fits right and sounds good so far. <P>Bungo
