Stereo problem

If I switch off my ignition whilst the CD player is running, the whole stereo shorts out. We've had a couple of in-car audio specialists look at it, plus the unit has been back to Clarion, but no luck. Has anyone else seen this? We found that pulling the unit out and replacing resets it, and it works OK, but then I lose all the preset stations. The LCD display is knackered, so re-tuning is a hit and miss affair!

i have a clarion deck also, an sd 415 i think - but have not had any problems with it (yet) i did, however,have 2 of my 4 clarion speakers replaced after only 3 months or so. seems the removable treble parts were hitting part of the larger cone (or something like that). the new ones seem fine so far.
