broken off speaker mounts
broken off speaker mounts
a little over a year ago I replaced the rear stock speakers in my '94 RS with a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers. The guy at the stereo shop told me they would fit, and they did, but the plastic posts that hold the speakers up have broken off under the heavy weight of the Fosgates. Now whenever I go over large bumps they rattle around and drive me crazy! Has anyone else had this problem and if so do you have any creative ideas on how to solve it? Let this be a warning to anyone considering buying large/heavy speakers for the rear of your MX-3: find some way to better support the speakers because the stock mounting posts will not hold up!

Well d*mn, i have the same problem... I am too lazy to get up and get creative. But if i ever solve the problem, i will post it and tell you what i did. The rattle is soooo annoying too. I thought it was the spare tire thing, but it is actually my eclipse 5.25"
