Alpine Type R subs

I had never seen these subs in action before, but my buddy always swore by them(he has 4 10"s). I told him I was looking to get a Infinity Perfect12.1 and told me to try out the Alpine Type R 12" first. I actually went to cartunes to look at it, and it really did seem nice, especially since they are almost half the price of the Infinities... So anyways, has anyone tried these out, and what do u guys think?

Great subs. Never heard them but all the comments on them have been great. Play loud and low in a small box and have wicked SQ.
