Thumping Noise
When i tap my brakes, turn my blinkers on, etc (basically anything that makes a light go on in the back of my car), i can hear it in my subs. I checked the ground a few times, rewired a few times, and got all my equipment tested. Anyone have any clue what's wrong??
Re: Thumping Noise
Seriously, if ANYONE has ANY noise comming from their speakers other than pure sexually arousing sound, then you need a ground loop isolator. It's not that espensive, maybe $10USD. Go to WWW.PartsExpress.COM, and search for one. They have GREAT deals on car audio supplies. Hope it helps.

Re: Thumping Noise
The noise only comes out of the subs...i tried a noise filter, and it eliminated all noise from the subs...i'll give this thing a shot though..thanks

How did it work for ya? If that doesn't help, let me know and I will figure out something else for ya.

Re: Thumping Noise
It eliminated all the sound from my subs, including the music.

Re: Thumping Noise
I heard that putting noise filtors and ground loop isolator is not the best thing for your audio. Aldo it might seem to fix the problem, it only hides it. The best thing is to find the source of the noise and fix it.
Ok, now you say that it happens when you tap the brakes or turn the lights on, but is this when the car is on, off or both ?
Make sure your power cables run on opposite side of your RCA cables going to the back.
Also make sure your battery cables are on tight. It happend to me once when they where a little loose.

Re: Thumping Noise
None of my wires touch, and all of my connections are tight. It does it whenever the radio's on (whether the car is started or not)

Re: Thumping Noise
how may watts are you pushing?
you can always run your ground back to the battery. got to pay for some more wire but unless your running 4gauge or bigger its not much and it a perfect ground it cant ground loop

Re: Thumping Noise
I tried running the ground right from the battery, and i had all my equipment tested...i think it's my alternator or battery
