Re: Weight Lifting?
Not sure of my absolute max's for core lifts but my weightlifting routine includes multiple singlehanded deadlift reps at about a pint each... and dude, that's with EITHER hand too!

Sounds like you are going for tone instead of bulk in your routine.

Re: Weight Lifting?
The only reason i ever lifted weights was for football. Everyday during off season we would be in the weight room like 2.5 hours then spend another hour doing sprints and other misc worksouts to make us faster and quicker. During season we would left just till thursday then take game days off. I only weighted 160lbs when i started then 4 years later i weighted 220lbs. But i was alot faster and alot quicker also.

Re: Weight Lifting?
bad idea, any anarobic exercise performed after 75 minutes gets exponentially less advantageous as time moves on, and actually becomes detrimental after a certain point... oh yea, and you should only workout 3 times a week an hour each... looking to gain lean body mass???? train to failure(this means lift the weight until you cant physically lift it anymore due to fatigue)... eat a gram of protein per lb. of body weight per day--- example, you weigh 200 lbs., eat 200 grams of protein a day... eat 6 small meals a day 3 hours apart... couple other tips---focus on compound lifts which require the contraction of at least 2 (but usually several) different main muscle groups (ie squats, bench, pull-ups)... focus on weight amounts that are challenging FOR YOU, and due low repitionsEveryday during off season we would be in the weight room like 2.5 hours
1st workout: shoulders, chest, triceps
2nd workout: calves, quads, hamstrings
3rd workout: biceps, forearms, back

Re: Weight Lifting?
I really didnt explain to you how we worked out. I didnt mean everyday during the off season i meant monday threw friday weekends off or we had a 7 on 7 to go to. And as far as the 5 days we would work it like this.
Monday: Upperbody- Bench, Hangclean, then 4 or five other workouts like dumbell curls, latrows or stuff like that.
Tuesday: Lowerbody- Squat, Deadlift, Then 4 or five other workouts like lunges, legcurls etc.
Then we would just alternate like that but have a different set of reps and weight and also have 4 different workouts after our core lifts.

When I played football, we weight lifted four times a week. Mondays where upper body days, Tuesday lower body, Thursday upper, Friday lower. Always, always, always running though......
