Noise from the back hatch

Post by your2slow »

I tried searching for this but it came up with no results. Does anyone have this issue where the back hatch makes a lot of noise when going over bumps? I've tried to figure it out but cant seem to find where the source is. Any feedback would help. Thanks

Ha Ha. I had the same problem. The rear rubber bushings that hold the hatch up have a tendency to deteriorate over time, thus lettig the hatch move up and down a little bit, just enough to cause an annoying squeak. All i did was put a piece of electrical tape around the hook part of the latch. You can also notch out the holes that the latch is attatched to the rear of the trunk and "lower" the latch assembly which will also make it a tighter fit. If thats not it, then its probably the sway bar links.
