[FS]- Decat and Grearbox both V6 1996
Having had my MX3 written off by some nice person who rammed me from behind i no longer own one but have a de cat pipe- brand new , never fitted for 1996 V6. Looking £25 plus postage and also a gearbox which had 80k on it and in perfect order- I swapped it out for the MX6 box. Only looking for £50 ...

If you read my post you will see I said when I'm 'race changing' - not daily driving. It is not something I do very often , and no the clutch will not burn out becuase of this- we're talking a tenth of a second here- the revs don't have time to shoot so far and besides which, that is what the clutch ...

Thanks Pat, as usual you ofrer sage advice! I 've had 2 mechanics look at it actually and it's going back to one of them asap. Both have failed to determine the problem but I hope it will be resolved soon. I can't help thinking it's the diff though or would the diff just be noisy all the time ...

It should'nt matter what revs you have- thats what the synchro is for. If you were doing a clutchless change I might see your point but erm.. no. I can take mine to the redline and bang it to second and guess what? No crunch. Any other car I've ever owned.. no crunch unless the synchro was worn. In ...

I'd still say it's the sychro. Double clutching originally was done in the past because old gearboxes did not have syncros and so you had to double clutch to allow the gear to align. The fact that it only crunches when you shift quickly points to a worn or 'slow' synchro. Having trouble shifting ...

I had this done by a mechanic and according to him it is a straight swap. I'll point the diiference in gear ratios does make a noticeable difference in acceleration too. At least a second off 0-60mph but you do get higher top speed and better mpg due to 5th giving you 70mph at 3250rpm instead of ...

Ok,
Latest is that I started getting loads of vibration at speed and increased when turning left, discovered a split right hand outer cv boot and figured thats the problem.. no.. replaced cv and still have the noise and vibration. Starts at about 35mph in any gear and then fades out.. comes back at ...

Wheel Bearing??
Just cleaned my alloys and noticed that the front right rim has a film of grease all over it- have whurring noise when turning left as well. No noticeable grease anywhere else. Wheel bearing, CV? Outer CV's and gearbox , clutch etc was done only 2 months ago and have never been happy since!
