Hey man, check that coil that just like freyguy_412 said, and I would exchange that distributor just for "craps" and giggles.... you never know could be a faulty distributor, wouldn't be the first time I have seen it As for the mechanic, what more could he do that you haven't already done?...

Good News, Nos92mx3...... I have a friend of mine that has paypal, so send me that quote about that head, My Mx-3 sitting in my driveway covered in snow is pretty depressing, if you know what I mean.....

Man, I cant wait to get that thing running again....

question though.... will this head off a 92 be the same as the 93? will everything connect the same, or will I have to modify some things?

and also, how would you send it? C.O.D or ?

Porsche Carrera Turbo? Now that sounds good? I live in New Hampshire, a little way away from Washington state, lol I am going to do a compression test here in the next day or so, so I will let you guys know what the #'s are...... I didnt put any sealant on the head gasket, I just cleaned both surfaces and then put on the gasket and torqued it down I will post it here if I am going to get rid of it, that way you guys can have some parts, if I decide to do that. I want to exhaust all my options first though..... Thanks guyaver...

Thanks Tunes67... I will run the compression test again and see what I get for results. What should a good 1.6 SOHC give for compression? The car didnt run out of coolant, and we didnt notice anything in the coolant when we took off the head. I havent checked the oil yet though.... which I will do. ...

yeah man, I dont want to send it to the junkyard.... The car has about 123,000 miles on it How do I tell if it is the head that has the crack or the block? If it is the head, I would fix it in a heart beat, but the block... Not sure what I would do if it was the block if I could talk the wife into l...

we looked at them, and they looked fine, they were straight, so I am leaning towards probably a cracked block or a cracked head, like you said. Is there any cheap way to find out which one has the crack? I was told about this stuff that has a moneyback guarantee that will supposedly fix the crack......

The car is getting gas, the spark is bright and clean, but no starting...it cranks over a little slower than it used to, but still fast enough to start it if it would start... it still has those damn bubbles coming up through the overflow tank after you stop cranking it over..... I dont get it, when...

yeah, a water pump is costly...
I was worried that the block might have an internal crack. I know that the car had the bubbles coming up the overflow tank both before I changed the head gasket and after. but it didnt do it before the car stalled....

no we didnt change the water pump, just the head gasket and on up through the motor (exhaust, all the intake gaskets, etc.)
