bench flow ze heads

Does anyone on here have bench flow numbers before and after port/polish heads. I was wondering what ballbark to expect after the headwork has been done. I know a lot depends on how extensive the headwork is but a ballpark would be good. Thanks.

Double check in the online shop manual but I am pretty sure that Right is Rear. At least that's how I remember it.

Re: Tming Belt tensioner (to change or not to change)

personally, i would change the tensioner. even if the motor has <60k, you don't know what the motor has been through before you got it. i would think on the consequenses of the tensioner going bad and all of the heartache of going back in to replace something that costs $150-160 and was staring me ...

Re: Clear fulid leaking

exactly where is the fluid coming from. with the symptoms that you are describing, i would think tranny fluid. if you're low on fluid then the shifter does stick after it gets hot. i would tend to think tranny fluid, especially since you said the the pedal feels ok. be more descript about the ...

Re: over heating..

i removed the heads a week or so ago and didn't see an area in the gasket that was blown out. it wasn't like i expected to because the car only overheated when i really pressured it (moreso with the nitrous). one thing that i did find was that one of the head bolts b/w 3 and 5 cylinders was not as ...

Re: over heating..

a head gasket would be a hell of a lot easier to deal with than a cracked block.
as far as the torque specs the initial torque down is 19 but then you torque in sequence another 270 degrees (i can't recall exactly) which takes the total torque a lot higher.

Re: KLZE questions, need the pro's

KLDE = KL-1A1 and KL-101
KLZE = KL31-1A1 and KL31-101

Straight neck = KL31 cams
Curved neck = KL01 cams
DE = KL01 cams

That is all there is to know, check the head codes for the '31' and you are golden

so since the curved neck ze has the same cams as the de, would it be advantageous to get the ...

Re: over heating..

check your plugs, make sure that there is no coolant on them. i had the same problem. car overheated only when i pressured it. i could drive around normally without any problem. checked to make sure coolant was flowing to eliminate the water pump, changed thermostat, changed radiator caps, filled ...
