OK guys I get the point!

To those who post from now on - I'd really appreciate it if you could answer my question rather than pick up ONLY on the flaws of it...

Thanks...

Thanks!

(I know nothing about oil, didn't I mention that?)

I presumed that the more viscose the oil is, the higher tolerance it has for excessive temperatures.

Since you seem to know your stuff however, could you answer my query?

Gracias,
Dave

A quick oil question....

Hello again! Posting this for a friend (who now owns my MX-3), in the UK climate (generally not so warm) what's the skinny on using 5w-40 oil (instead of 5w-30)? My guess is that since it's thicker, when the engine gets to super-nova temperatures (as it does) the oil will be able to handle things be...

I feel for you man - I too am from Scotland and dreamed of KL-ZE ! (had contacts in Japan even price me engines (including a brand new one apparently.... yum!) HOWEVER I moved on to pastures new - and now own a Nissan 200SX (so I got my 200bhp, in fact now tuned to about 250bhp) It's fast as hell, b...

Update... and moving a little off topic... After considering different things, such as, complications / parts sourcing / traction issues / upgradability / cost, I'm contemplating doing up my MX to sell, and buying a Nissan 200SX instead. ECU reprogramme + performance exhaust = ~270bhp through the re...

Update! I spoke to them again today, the main man in charge isn't 100% sure if it's a UK spec car or an Import (JDM). So I'm going to make the 5 hour round trip tomorrow to have a look at it and another they have... SO.. What do I look for? I'll spend enough time there to find all the codes (bearing...

Update!

Found another engine!!! I'm trying to be really careful to make sure I get a true KL-ZE, so the guy is sending pictures of it tomorrow morning. But it's only £464.13 including tax and shipping!!! He checked the TB for me, it's KL31 - any clues?

Cheers,
Dave

Not sure mate, I have a HKS Super mega flow and didnt't need to drill anything...

"UK's hottest MX-3" (or something) on cardomain.com has a green filter on his, perhaps you could try and get in touch. Red car with dragon decals, was featured in fast & modified magazine.

Cheers,
Dave
