Re: Car stalling/Sudden loss of power
Matrix733 Managed to get bits from Ford, cost £140(US$235) If I had got replacement dizzy it had to be Ford or Mazda main agents(nowhere else I could in the UK I could get them). Ford wanted £500(US$835), Mazda wanted £400(US$670).<p>VisualXTC Checked the air intake duct but it was intact.<p>Worst t...

Re: Altezza Taillights
There is a guy on here called Wirespeed from Newcastle(Membership no 4682)and pix of his car show altezza lights fitted. You could PM him and find out whether they are UK legal. Here's a link to a pic of his car http://www.mytempsite.co.uk/fridge/images/mx3.jpg <p>[ June 23, 2003: Message edited by:...

Re: Car stalling/Sudden loss of power
I'm gonna replace the coil and the ignitor in my distributor, but I just wanted to clarify something before I buy the parts. All the info & the TSB's on replacing the parts refers to the 2.5's disty. Are the replacement coil & ignitor p/n the same for the 1.8.<p>i.e. these are the ones quote...

Re: Car stalling/Sudden loss of power
Tried what you suggested but unfortunately didn't make work. <p>Somebody over at MX6.com suggested it may be the distributor and having ran a search here on 'distributor' and followed a link to Jeff Abrams site it would seem to point to that, certainly all the characteristics he quotes seem to match...

Car stalling/Sudden loss of power
I was driving along the motorway/freeway yesterday doing about 80-85 mph when all of a sudden the power dropped off. I tried freewheeling while revving to clear it and also tried dropping down a gear and letting clutch out(effectively bump starting it) but it wouldn't clear completely. I pulled over...

Re: my tranny leaks, is it because of synthetic?
I changed the oil in my transmission when I changed my engine over and for a while I found very small amounts of oil on garage floor, under where car had been parked. When I inspected it it looked like it was from transmission(I had suspicions it was a drive shaft seal), so rather than bother about ...

Re: ? For those of you with RED MX-3's
Mine is a 94 model and has suffered paint fade much the same as the other contributors to this thread,on the mirrors and the rear spoiler, but the rest of the paintwork comes up like new after polishing. It also suffers from minor stone chipping on the front bumper and the front of the hood

Re: Trans. Question
The only thing I've read about tranny switches is this quote from Vaughn Nishimura's site and it refers to the difference between mx6 & mx3 tranny.<p>"One thing I did find is that the neutral switch, reverse switch and speed sensor connectors are the reverse of each other between the two tr...

o2 sensor cleaning ?
my car has a problem with at least one of the o2 sensors & and i was going to buy a new one but to my horror my local Mazda agent wants £90($150) per sensor. I just wondered if any body knows of an effective way to clean them (i.e. pressurised air or a solvent), or should i just bite the bullet ...

Re: my klze won't start
The engine is J-spec KLZE from corksport.<P>My UK ECU is the car's original ecu but rechipped(the car ran happily on this for last few months). I now also have another UK ECU(same p/n) with standard 1.8 fuelling chip(I bought it cause I thought my own had given up).Neither of these ECU starts car bu...

Re: my klze won't start
I have no idea why, but if I run the US ECU emissions 30 TIMES legal limit and car only does 15 mpg. On the Uk ECU emissions OK and 30 mpg. THe US ecu is p/n K801 18 881, The UK ecu is p/n K819 18 881B. There is a big difference inside the ECU's, the pcb board layout on the UK ecu looks like the one...

my klze won't start
I had my klze fitted and my car has been running like a dream for last couple of months ,but..... <BR>My car started as normal and was idling/running ok, then I backed out onto the road went to pull away and it stalled. Tried to restart it and the engine turned over fast enough but no signs of life....
