Headlights stay on when car is off?

The other night I got home from work and shut off my car and the headlights stayed on. I pulled out the keys and the switch was turned to off. I started messing around with the light control switch and they turned off. Later that night when I went to go somewhere they had turned themselves back on ...

Re: Seat Belt and Door Lock Replacement

Na, forget Mazda, they are going to be a hassel and it will only be a temp fix since they will break again some time. Do a manual belt conversion. It is not that hard IMO and will be a good permanent fix. I'm sure if you bat your eyes at some Canook they will sell you the parts you need for cheap ...

Do you think they would still do that even though the doors aren't original to the car and the seat belts have been altered?

Seat Belt and Door Lock Replacement

A little back story; I bought the car not knowing the doors and bumpers were 'allegedly' stolen on it from another mx3. The guy punched out the driver side door lock and the key I have doesn't unlock any of the doors not even the hatch. I think I can go to a locksmith to get knew locks made but I'm ...

Re: Hey I am the new girl

Nice looking car. Congratulations. There are lots of people on here with body kits and there are lots (probably more) people that really don't care for them. The only advice I would give is to be really careful what you spend your money on.

Even in very good condition, the car is 18 years old ...

Chilton's has almost everything you need to know about the car. There are a ton of wiring diagrams in it. Check your local auto parts store. It's about $20.

Halo Headlights?

Any opinion on the halos? I heard they tend to drift after awhile. I need to buy new headlights soon and I am not sure what to get. I like the halos. I think they look cool. Am I wrong?

Re: Need Help Identifying Engine

It probably is. It'd make no sense to upgrade from the B6 to a B8, when for the same price you could have the (much better) BP, so it follows that the person who did the swap didn't do it as an upgrade, but as a replacement.

You're welcome. Welcome to the forum :)

Just as a suggestion, next time ...

Re: Need Help Identifying Engine

That's either the B6 (same engine that comes with the car) or a B8.
Look at the block, right in front of cylinder 3. If you have "BP" cast, about 1" under the head, it's a B8. That's the SOHC version of the BP, 1.8 L, that comes on the Protege. If it doesn't, it's the original, 1.6L B6.
