Re: Upstream rear O2 sensor
Yeah, I have one of those. It's not a question of the tool, it's a question of placement/lack of elbow room to work with it. I'll probably just take it to a shop tomorrow instead of fighting with it in my garage. Also think I noticed one of the downpipes being loose under there (on the back side ...

Upstream rear O2 sensor
Anyone have any good suggestions for trying to replace the rear upstream o2? Just put the MX up on jack stands as high as I could and crawled under. Got a good look at where it's located, cant seem to get any tools to reach it well, lots of exhaust piping in the way.

Re: VRIS and Dizzy headaches. Joy.
Ok, I've done a bit more reading and thinking about the symptoms the car has been having. Last time the dist went bad it caused a lot more trouble than this, often to the point of not even starting up and if it did, would not stay that way long. So the codes 23/24 I found yesterday, appears more ...

Re: VRIS and Dizzy headaches. Joy.
Yeah, that's the plan in the long run. When I replaced the OE dizzy last year I kept it and ate the core charge so I have a spare I can mod when I have the time. I'll have to look up the FAQ and see what all is involved in doing it. Question, has anyone done a coil-on-pack mod for the K series yet ...

VRIS and Dizzy headaches. Joy.
First off please forgive how broken or scattered this post will likely be, I've recently changed positions at work and I am here at night now. Have not adjusted to the schedule and my brain is rebelling against me at the moment. So I've run into a couple of minor issues with my GS lately.

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
I have a minty boot you can have for like,,,$30 shipped. the damn shipping will be between 15-20 bucks I'm sure. Just let me know.
Hmm... I wanted to stay stock with it for now... can't beat that deal. Would you mind finding out how much shipping to the 27604 zip code would cost? I'd be ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
Checked the local dealer about 20 mins ago, they don't have one in stock but are going to order one for me. I thought about that too, any part I find will be as old as the car to begin with and only serve as a temporary fix. Dealer part was $105, which isn't as bad as it could be imho. Supposed to ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
Took the part out a couple hours ago and brought it in. Used some "high durability" Loctite super glue "designed for vibration, high heat, and outdoor conditions" etc and found two more smaller cracks in the process. Sealed them up carefully and was sure to get the glue in the seam and a healthy ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
I edited the post shortly after I realized I said "gap". It's not a gap, you would not even see the tear unless you forced it like that. I was thinking some Loctite Ultra Gel might keep it closed for a while, at least long enough to verify this is the issue (not much doubt in my mind).

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
Think I found the problem tonight.
Stopped at a gas station around 11pm, decided to take another look under the hood. Could not find anything out of place, all the fittings are snug, the PCV valve, though not the tightest fitting original part on the car (marked KL0-somethingorother) was in place ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
Warm up has never been an issue on my car, that I know of. I don't instantly beat on it from a cold start, and where I live isn't exactly cold right now
I have done a lot of reading the last few days online, starting to think it might be my TPS out of whack. Is it safe enough to disconnect ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
I appreciate the offer, I'll keep that in mind.
I am kind of wishing I had bought the other GS I found for sale locally a few months ago, at least then I'd have a reference/parts car to work with.
I have been starting off in 2nd most of the day, seems like the problem shows up there too but to a ...

Re: Having some odd troubles, can anyone advise?
I could drive it around town in 100 degree heat for hours, still no change.
I'm starting to go back to thinking it's a clutch issue, even though I was told by someone that it's not. I did a second gear start today, went without much issue other than having to rev higher than usual.

Hah! You guys are crazy.
Sorry, but I usually own cars until the wheels fall off. Don't see the MX as being an exception any time soon.
So to answer those questions:
1. Lurches primarily in 1st, SOMETIMES I feel it in a low 2nd gear.
