B6 and BP parts and transmission

I have a B6 with trans from my old MX3 when I did my BP swap. It has 114k miles on it and ran great when I pulled it. It's been sitting inside the garage for over a year. I need it gone. It is mostly complete. $100 for both. Turbo manifold for B6. $25 VJ-xx turbos. $100ea I -think- there's a G-serie...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

It got a KL-DE from a 626 and a manual from a Probe GT. :D "Calculated" @ 165hp 0-60 3.09s 1/4mi 10.4s "Calculated" @ 250hp (boost) 0-60 2.36s 1/4mi 9.2s With stock torque it's 18ft-lbs away from a wheelie. O.O It runs now using the Probe GT ECU and Probe GT harness. With no CEL ...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

Oil pan almost finished. Picking up the trans, ecu, mounts, flywheel, etc etc later today. Should have this running in a few days. For anyone interested. When relocating the oil sump to the rear of the engine, you can use a Miata B6 (1.6L) pick-up tube. It'll bolt on and you just have to tweak it ov...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

Tonight I cut the windage tray down and relocated the oil pickup. I'll be fabing a 6 quart aluminum pan as well with some baffles in it. This allows me to set the engine 4-5" lower in the chassis. I took pics of it but I can't get them off my phone. =( I'll figure it out though. I got a shot of...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

Tonight I completed the rear subframe and started fitting the engine. I will probably make an oil pan to drop the engine lower. Was this engine ever used in a rear wheel drive car? One snag I have is the manifold hitting one of the frame tubes. Anyone know if the Millena manifold fits a KL?

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

B6 and BP are just as heavy as the KLDE. Don't forget all the extra weight you'd have to add to boost either of the 4s. The KL can do it without boost. I calculated the weight and gear ratios and to get the front end up with 2 people in it will take ~200ft of crank torque. The KLDE is about 160ft-lb...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

The motor mount locations are different for an I4, but shouldn't be hard to re-fab in a rail. That's a nice design. Is it a Chenowth? I really want to see a video when it's done! I was told it's an 80s Berrien Sandtoy. Video is not a problem. ;) If the mount locations are different, then how is it ...

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

I found a v6 engine and a G trans but the trans is from a 1.8L Protege. Anyone know if it'll bolt to the v6?

Re: Need help selecting a transmission to be used in a sand-

If I had the K in an MX3 I probably wouldn't want low ratios unless I was racing. It's because this buggy has such large tires that I need as low a gearset I can find. So far it looks like any G-series gears fit any G-series transmission so I should start by getting a G trans from a K engine car and...
