Re: OBD-II sensor data availability

Is this all there is available from our computers, or are there other sensors like EGT, oil pressure/temperature, fuel level/flow, battery voltage, etc., that are just hidden?

AFAIK there are no sensors for that in the 96. Proscan/scanmaster etc and some other software out there can read what ...

Re: To Worry, or not? (ATX ?)

You can try reading tranny codes by jumping GND->TAT in the diag box (if you have a TAT pin that is)...

Anyways if anybody has any input on this or have come across some good headunits please point me in ...

Do the ballast have proper ground - if not try touching the metal part of the ballast to a proper ground and see if the interference goes away....
Make sure your head unit is grounded properly also....

Re: Help SuperK with Distributorless Ignition?

For the DIS you will need three firing channels from the ECU - the mx3 ECU only has one - so you will have to do some complex magicery to turn one into three. Or swap the 626 ECU and the harness....

Also Megasquirt does DIS (wasted spark) very well.....

Re: O2 codes

Its funny because last week i talked to someone with a 95 RS up in kalamazoo and she has "partial" obd2 and throwing a cat efficiency code (P0420 - funny number i know)- in her case the cat is rusted out and leaking ...

Re: O2 codes

obd2 cars use two (or more) sensor readings to determine cat efficiency - one before cat and one after cat - the after cat one is monitored by the ECU to estimate the "health" of the cat. If the cat is hollowed out then the ECU would throw a cat efficiency below threshold code or something like that ...

Re: Cylinder deactivation with MegaSquirt?

You dont quite need sequential injection - you "just" have to cut the +12v supply to the injectors that you need to close....

The commercial cylinder deactivation works by closing both valves shut - the "air" trapped inside is compressed and decompressed repeatedly - the theory is that it takes ...
