Ya, it should be awesome. I haven't posted any pics, because all it is at the moment is a slighty disassembled version of what people have already posted. I'll post once it's masked and primed.

Awww, SuperK, that's very sweet of you. Sorry, I'm taken, but I'd be happy to paint one for you after I'm done mine, assuming mine comes out well! I found it online on ebay. It's not done yet, because my work has decided to put me on 40 hour weeks, even though I'm part time. It will get done soon an...

Just in case anyone here is following this, know that I haven't abandoned the project. Just waiting for finals to wrap up then to get home to my father's paint booth and airbrush. I'll post pics as I get working. Thanks to anyone who is along for the 'ride'. :D

Hooray! The car came in today after I went out and picked up the paint from Mazda. The jars of paint definitely look like they are circa 1991. The tape the seals the jar has been on it for so long that it's discolored the paper label. No harm done. The paint looks just fine. I won't bother t...

Mine should be coming in some time this week! :D I can't wait! I will post pictures as I move along in the process. Of course now it's not an Easter present, so I've renamed it the 'Congratulations on a great semester!' present. I hope he loves it! This should be fun!

Hmm. Ok, good to know. I suppose the engine size doesn't matter, since the hood can't be opened. In terms of color, maybe there is a model made in Raspberry Metallic, but I couldn't find one. However, that's interesting that the color (or a similar shade) was available on the Eunos Presso. Thanks! :D

Hahaha, I know it. :( As I've said before, I would gladly buy him a real one if I had the money. I'd get him as many as he wanted in mint condition! I know they can be quite reasonable, but I also know that he'd be upset if I spent that kind of money on him. He was horrified that I spent $200 to get...

I should probably also note that I only found the car in 1:43 scale. I too wanted the larger 1:18 scale, but I don't believe they make it. So, I figured that any model was better than no model.

Many helpful people have actually shown me the disassembly page. It will be my reference manual of sorts. I didn't see any white MX-3s when I was looking around online. Originally, I thought I'd just buy a white one and paint over it. Then, I realized that I should treat this just as I would a real ...

Ok, thanks so much! I have a friend who owns a hobby shop, so I bet he could advise me. I'm really excited to work on this! I don't think I'll need a body kit per se, because his car never had one, save what was stock. :D

Quick update: I've moved my story about this project to the general MX-3 discussion, because they already have a thread going about it. I think you could also find it by searching by my username. Thanks to all! :D

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific in terms of what kind of advice I'm looking for. Any and all advice would be heartily welcome, but I'd love any painting advice or tips, such as how to add authentic (preferably chrome painted plastic or even metal) emblems on the trunk or hood, how to i...

Hello, all! This seemed like the correct place to post this (I have it in the Appearances section of the forum as well). Please join me as I attempt to take a (1:43 scale) model of a red Autozam AZ-3 and transform it into a raspberry metallic MX-3 GS SE. Why am I doing this? Well, the truth is...I'm...

Haha thanks. I will look for that thread. Do you know what it's called? Thanks for your opinion on the fog lights. I have a feeling that he would have liked them too. I didn't even think of going to a hobby shop to get it painted. I was thinking about real autobody shops. Thanks again! :D

Autozam AZ-3 into a (hopefully) flawless MX-3 GS SE
