Yeah, those 2 ARE the same, crazy...

I found out about the Ford/Mazda connection after I got this MX-3 also. It felt kinda like a gyp, cuz I was looking for that Japanese car longevity.
But nice to know they are still basically Japanese cars though.

Yeah that price is good...still coming through Texas in a few months or did plans change? Or are you gonna be on I-45 instead? I already had them to send me the official recall notice, showed it to the dealer. But I still get disqualified.

I don't know...the last six digits on mine are 101*** so it seems like it'd be in range to me...the low one is 100039 and the high one is 238507 but has a "PO" instead of a "NO" whatever importance that is... So should I continue to pitch a B@#%^ at Mazda? I'm about ready to give...

Well here's a little update in case anyone is interested...see what you think: I emailed Mazda like I said, no response. So I got on the phone and called them for the 3rd time (4th counting the time I was disconnected, ah the lovely muzak again for 15 minutes)...still a mystery VIN# as usual. So I k...

So I emailed them, and I had to use a VIN# from a 94 I saw for sale that I wrote down, just to even get past their system, it was STILL not "VALID" ...then put my real one down in the email...that may tic em off in itself, breaching their security like that :D ...but I don't care, t...

The thing is, I just talked to Mazda the other day, and they are the ones telling me nothing can be done because the VIN isn't "VALID". So that's the reason I'm thinking it's kinda hopeless. But I agree, the dealer ain't exactly over-eager to accomodate me on this either ha. They always AC...

Yeah all the numbers match up the same, that is to say the door panel and placard on the dash are identical numbers. Mazda just screwed UP and lost track of my VIN#. More worried about their dumb ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM campaign nowadays to care I guess.... Looks like I'll have to get some used seatbelt part...

SEAT BELT RECALL/ MISSING VIN#

So I've been trying to get my seatbelts repaired under the recall and it's hit a brick wall. Mazda corporation can't find my VIN#, telling me it's not VALID. Yeah this is -ing me off real bad. What are they talking about? It can't be found in the US or Canada so it doesn't exist? And they can'...

Hey dudes really appreciate it now everthing is a lot clearer--I have read everything I could find prior to posting but your answers really cinch it up for me. That's cool the souped-up 4 is about as strong as the V6--that's surprising. But yeah, sounds like to do a 6-cylinder swap would be a major ...

V6 in 4-Cyl. Chassis

So this surely sounds clown-headed, BUT my knowledge of auto mechanics is very basic: When my 4-cylinder 1.6 SOHC engine finally craters, there won't be a reasonably easy way to upgrade to a V6? All I can do is get a better 4-cylinder in there realistically? What are the major obstacles to overcome ...
