Dim Headlights

Hello, looking for some answers hopefully.<BR>I have a Mx-3, 1993 and have a problem with having exceptionally dim headlights at night. Not a power problem, the for the rest of the lights are to norm as are the other electrical systems. I didnt get the vehicle new so a few questions please. 1) are the light covers supposed to be dim or crystal clear? (they are ... yellowed is as best I can describe it - and I havent been able to clean the inside of the housing). 2) how are the beams height adjusted (tilted)? aside from that, I purchased new super-blue halogen bulbs to attempt to get some exta oomph, but saw little or no difference. Help please.

the yellowish or "fogged" headlights are a common problem. get some good wax, not the spray and buff it out. i've had good results with just rubbing it out, but i'm gonna have my friend buff them for me with his buffer pretty soon. blue magic is supposed to work the best, but i can't remeber if it was the states or canada that had trouble finding it. i just use armor all. 1.) Yeah the lights are supposed to be clear.<P>Look into using plastic polish for clear plastics. Can't give you brand names but just look at automotive stores where they keep polish and wax products.<P>2.)look around the light housing for adjustment screws. The car manual might tell you how, else a technical manual will.

what I have found that works the best is a product called Mother's it is an aluminum wheel cleaner. You rub it on until you see black on your rag and then buff it out. You may have to do it a couple of times if they are real dingy. Mother's cost about 4 dollars for a can at Autozone.
