Removing paint from front bumper cover

Post by mx3_ryder »

Was hoping someone could tell me the easiest way to remove paint from my front bumper. DA or a bead/soda blast? Hand sanding seems like too much work and would rather just buy a new one. Has anyone bead blasted urethane? Thanks.

Why are you removing it? If it's not damaged and you're simply need to paint it another color all you do is scuff it with gray scotch brite pad. If there are scratches you can sand those areas by hand and use some flexible bumper cover filler to fill them in and spot prime those areas.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Paint is stress cracked and chipping in quite a few spots. Figured it would come out better if I stripped it completly down.
