Making a damn good interior?

Post by tdesws »

Hello, I'm really tired from my mx-3's old looking interior. Maybe somebody tried adapting some other interior from another, new Mazda(not mx-3) model?

Get rid of it then  Seriously, Mx-3 has one of best interiors for 20 year old car, I've been commented by passengers on how nice mx3 interior is.

It's a ton of work, but have you looked at the 94+ dashes? You can make them fit.

put a 2 din DVD in the dash it updates the interior a tad bit

or carbon wrap or paint some stuff...

If you want to go crazy get that dash wrapped in leather with a stitching of your choice like a Ferrari kind of theme

Go to the junk yard and get a 94+ dash from a MX3 you might like it.

I love the 92/93 interior as well but after you own a presso the interior looks pretty wack lol

There is not a lot that can be done with the dash, though there are other vents and things that are available. I have been looking at the 99 protege center column, it looks like it would be fairly simple to swap in. But will need some work. the rest of the interior is good with new fabric IMO. Though I have been contemplating Mazdaspeed 3 seats.

Protege wheel, newer seats(simple enough to change), and freshen up the carpet/replace the fabric in the door panels.

That'll set you straight :D

Mine so far is...

Manual Seatbelt swap
94 center console(deeper) with double stack console lid
Protege Steering wheel(black on black, no silver)
Euro Vents
PaceSetter STS w/ drilled shift knob
94+ headliner w/ pillar trim
OEM Cargo Cover
Black sunroof switches
I want LEDs for the maplight, they're next on the list for interior goodies.

I'm thinking REALLY hard about getting the black leather Tiburon seats that pile_of_rd1 has in his car... I also want to re-upholster my door + rear armrest trim in black leather. I'm thinking OEM leather for the rear seats... Not much can be done there.

There are pictures of most of what I listed in my worklog, and there are some very nice pictures in pile's worklog as well. If you're patient, try and read all of MoonEggs' daily driver worklog, you won't regret it!
