Intake manifold gasket dimensions

Any one in a place where they can measure the length and width of one of the intake manifold gaskets?

The dimensions are 12" length(exactly) x 2-3/8" width.

That took an entire 60 seconds out of my day, I expect compensation! I'll accept information on what you're planning, if it's awesome!

lets see 20 dollars for 2 strips 180 deg delrin material of 2.5" x 12" by 1/4" thick material and a little bit of my time with a dremel vs 120 buck?! no thanks.

Will have the KLG4 mani on soon with my VAF / MAF eliminator within the next two weeks. I am hoping the combo of thermo gaskets, vaf delete, and the KLG4 mani will yield about 15 WHP gain... Should be close -_-

Sorry misspoke it is a VAF/MAF eliminator. Swapping to a MAP sensor. This is a piggy back system. cheaper than the MS. MS is too expensive. never thought I would say that. But it is.

Josh, if your gains are expected to be that high, then I look forward to my swap as well... I'm curious what I'll put down just starting out, with UDP/Fidanza, KLG4 complete w/ coilpacks, thermospacers, no VAF, shorttube headers, MegaSquirt(Dyno tuning possibly in the spring), no A/C, and a 65mm throttle body w/ 3" intake piping all the way, as well as 2.5" exhaust.

This is going to be a busy winter for me, but I figure I got most of the rest of the car done this past year... I may as well work on making it fast finally.

what piggy are you using, i never noticed talk of this in your worklog but i havent been to active lately.
you've got my interest peaked i didnt think there was a piggyback that was usuable.

Well its an old school system I am picking up hopefully next week. I dont remember the brand but there are a couple systems out there still that do the same function. there is a Russian company making one now for Mazda and BMW's for 200 bucks but requires a little bit of tuning. The system I am getting is a plug and play mostly. I will run it inline with the vaf for a few days as it learns the parameters of the VAF and applies them to the MAP, then you can take the VAF out. Plus it has an added bonus of being able to run fuel mapping. I will post more when I get it installed and running. I have a lot of things to post in both WL's but nothing is completed yet so I have not posted

Blake - I think 15 WHP is doable. I would be happy with 12. Thermo spacers tend to yield about 5% overall on the KL motors, I have seen some of the guys on Probtalk get as much as 15 gain with just removing the VAF (they are very restrictive), my only concern is gogin to be with my exhaust and installing the MS back box. I will be going from a free flowing 2.5" to a 1.83" back box. it should not effect it that much but it may. But i should sustain my 169 ish WHP number at the least with the added upgrades.

Well, now I have to put in my cams, and such. You're getting into my HP territory. You said you'd sustain 169whp. Is that where you are/ were?

I dyno'd it earlier this year at 168.8 on flat tires -_- .... did not realize how under inflated they were. But yes that is where I am at now. all I did is change to a JE50 and KL36 from the DE tuning that was in it, and increase the intake piping to 3"

With the Vaf out of the way and a new intake, the KLG4 IM (ported to all hell mind you), and the IM thermal spacers, and the new adjustability of the piggyback system I will be using I want to stay conservative with my numbers so I dont get my hopes up, but I should be able to see 175 real easy, 185 would be more ideal. this wont help much either, but I will be putting in the fresh rebuilt trans and LSD as well. The only thing that may choke it is the MazdaSpeed muffler, but I can always unbolt it while dyno tuning to see if I have any gains or losses.

I've had a rough week, between my baby momma and bills piling up, but I should have everything figured out soon hopefully!!

Once I find the right KLG4 swap candidate, I'll be going to town with the swap so to speak. I still need a clutch, timing kit, external IAT sensor, plug wire kit(v8), spark plugs, and polyurethane to fill my motor mounts.

It's coming along nicely, but I still need those items, and maybe a few other little things.
