is this a good buy or no?

Post by dubber084 »

im looking into buying this 95 mx-3. 5 speed.
exterier looks great, interior looks great.
196k miles

control arm bushings may need to be replaced
gas gauge does not work and timing needs to be adjusted

seller wants 1,000
is this a fair price or should i try and go lower. havent had a mx3 in a couple years and want to get back into the swing of things. this will be my 3rd mx3 and just want to know what id be getting into if i did purchase this car, and wouldnt want to get screwed over just because he thinks im some little girl.

thanks guys for any info!

I think it's a fair price.
The bushings are like $18-30 on rockauto.
They don't appear to have the fuel tank sending unit there.
And a timing belt kit (replace the tensioner while you're at it) is like $40.
You should be able to do most of the work yourself and have a nice car for under 1200.

Assuming the body/interior/engine are in good condition.
Wings on an MX3? What are you thinking?
